About the MHWS

The Morgan Hill Wind Symphony is a community wind band that draws on the immense talent from the South Bay area (Morgan Hill, San Martin, Gilroy, Watsonville, Hollister and Aromas) of the San Francisco Peninsula. Established in 1992, it prides itself on performing a varied mix of classical transcriptions, big band, swing, Broadway and film score selections and marches!

The MHWS goals are to enhance the level of the musical art in the South Bay community, to foster the importance of music in one's life by performing at local area venues, to provide an opportunity for community involvement as a group and individual, and last but not least, to provide the opportunity for musicians to practice and perform in a relaxed, family environment.

As a nonprofit community organization, the MHWS welcomes the opportunity to perform at local events. A typical year's concerts will include participation in Morgan Hill's Hot August Night series, a July 4th concert or parade (on a float, not marching!), a winter Holiday concert and various joint concerts with other area bands.

By the way, we're always on the lookout for more wind and percussion players. See our membership section if you want to break out your instrument and join the band. Or just come on down for rehearsal as a guest.
